Garden Farming uses techniques applicable to
Landscaping with Mushrooms
You’ll want a large amount of fresh deciduous
tree chips.
Save all trimmings from your shrubs and chip them
as well.
A good 6” (inch) bed of chips for walkways
and in between rows will do nicely.
It will keep the mud and compaction under control.
Corners are a good location to hang 8” to
10” diameter wire mesh chip or straw tubes for Shiitake or Oyster
mushrooms.
In the spring, till only the rows to plant your
vegetables, leaving the majority of chips to suppress weed growth and grow your
favorite fungus. Replace and add chips as needed to refresh.
Spore and spawning tissue can be
applied with simple sprayers.
